Pete Murray and his bride Amanda Coutts were surrounded by about 70 people in a hillside church at Eureka.
In typical Byron Bay fashion, the pair left the ceremony in a battered Kombi van.
Pete hired security guards to ward off those paparazzi trying to snare some unauthorised shots.
